It's your lucky day! Sousou takes dessert to a whole new level of authentic flavor with the Lebanese mouneh delicacy of whole figs in sugar syrup. Year around Indulgence!

Ingredients

1 kg figs

4 cups sugar

2 cups water

1 mandarin skin, sliced

¾ cup peeled almonds

juice from 1 lemon

How to Cook:

In a pot on the stove, mix the sugar and water. Stir until it thickens. Then, add the figs and leave on low heat for twenty minutes. Next, take out the figs from the syrup and put in a strainer. Fill the figs with the almonds and the mandarin skin and place in the syrup.

Leave them over night.

The next day, take the figs out of the syrup and put the syrup on the stove. Boil until it thickens. Then, add the figs and boil them for 20 minutes. Lastly, add the lemon juice.
