Sousou is getting creative and decided to replace the traditional milk and orange juice ingredients with yoghurt, and added some jam and almonds! Discover the easy steps to prepare this delicious cake.


150 g butter

2 tablespoons corn oil

1 pinch vanilla

4 teaspoons baking powder

5 eggs

3 cups sugar

4 cups flour

1½ cups yogurt

1 teaspoon grated lemon rind

½ cup soft apricot jam

200 grams grilled almonds (sharpened)

How to Cook:

Beat the butter, sugar, vanilla, and grated lemon rind with an electric mixer until it becomes light and fluffy.

Add the eggs one at a time making sure to mix well after each addition.

Stir in the flour and yogurt in four batches. Then, add the oil and baking powder.

Pour the mixture into a buttered pan.

Bake at 200 degrees C. for 50 to 60 minutes then unmold it in a serving plate.

Use the jam & the almonds to decorate the top of the cake.
