sousou's spaghetti

Forget all the traditional spaghetti recipes you have prepared before and try Sousou’s special recipe of Spaghetti that has meat, cheese, spices and hot pepper. It’s a great way to enjoy a homemade meal and quality time with your family.


400 g spaghetti

200 g minced meat

2 medium onions, cubed

2 tablespoons oil

½ cup fried pine nuts

salt and black pepper to taste

1 tablespoon sumac

½ teaspoon red hot pepper

½ teaspoon powdered cinnamon

3 tablespoons tomato paste

5 cups water

2 medium tomatoes, cubed

1 sweet green pepper, cubed

200 g grated gruyere cheese

How to Cook:

Boil water with one teaspoon of oil, & ¼ teaspoon salt; then, add the pasta & boil it for 5 to 6 minutes. Strain it. Pour one cup of cold water over the pasta.

In a pan, fry the onions with the oil until they change color. Add the meat and stir until the water evaporates. Then add salt, black pepper, sumac and red pepper. Lastly, add the cinnamon and pine nuts.

Add 5 cups of water with 3 tablespoons of tomato paste. Let it simmer on low heat for 20 minutes or until it has thickened. Once thickened, add the pasta & mix. Then, add the cubed tomatoes, green pepper & half of the cheese, making sure to mix well.

In a Pyrex, put the mixture and cover with the remaining cheese.

Cook in oven until the cheese melted.
