Give this tender and delicous Basbousa cake a try, best served with tea or coffee.

Ingredients

  • ½ kilo semolina
  • 50 grams thin semolina (ferkha flour)
  • 50 grams butter
  • 2 tablespoons powdered milk
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons grated lemon rind
  • vanilla
  • SYRUP
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange blossom water

How to Cook:
  • Mix all of the ingredients together.
  • Put them in an oiled tray, cut the top into square shape
  • Bake in the oven at 200 degrees C for half an hour.
  • SYRUP
  • Combine the sugar and water in a pan and boil the mixture while stirring. When it thickens, add the orange blossom water and lemon juice.
  • Spread it over the baked Basbousa.
