This recipe is quite easy and doesn’t take time at all since it uses dried figs. The flavors of the figs and the sesame are so lovely together. Delicious with cheese, butter, or simply spread on toast.

Ingredients

5 kg dried figs

2½ kg sugar

7 cups water

5 tablespoons lemon juice

1 ½ tablespoons anise

1 teaspoon fenugreek

¼ teaspoon nutmeg

¼ teaspoon cloves

6 pieces musk

1 tablespoon orange blossom water

¾ sesame

How to Cook:

Cut the figs into thin slices.

Add the sugar and water to a pot on the stove. When they begin to boil, add the lemon juice, anise, fenugreek and nutmeg. Then, add the clove and musk.

Next, add the figs.

Stir the mixture for more than half an hour or until all of the water has evaporated. Lastly, add the orange blossom water and the sesame seeds.

Keep the marmalade in the pot until the next day so it becomes cold. Then, place the marmalade in jars.
