freekeh with chicken

Best combined with this perfectly seasoned Chicken.


4 chicken legs, cut each into two pieces

3 chicken breasts, cut each into four pieces

1 peeled onion

1 cinnamon stick

½ lemon

4 cups freekeh (green wheat)

2 big onions, cubed

½ cup corn oil

7 to 8 cups chicken stock

1 magi cube

to taste salt and pepper

½ cup fried and peeled almonds

½ cup fried pine nuts

How to Cook:

In a pan on the stove, fry the chicken with oil until golden brown. Then, add water until it reaches 6cm above it. Then, add the lemon, peeled onion, Cinnamon stick, Magi cube and salt.

Boil the chicken for 20 minutes. Reserve the chicken stock aside.

In another pan on the stove, fry the 2 onions with 2 tablespoons of oil until it turns to a light yellow color.

Then, add the freekeh and stir it with the onions for 6 to 8 minutes. Next, add half a cup of chicken stock and mix from time to time.

Continue pouring the chicken stock and mix until it has been incorporated and the freekeh becomes tender and fully cooked.

Lastly, add the salt and pepper. Put the freekeh on a serving plate. Place the chicken on it and spread the pine nuts and the Almonds On top.
