ginger cake

It’s one of the yummiest cakes with hits of ginger that grant it a little bit of spice. Enjoy a slice with a cup of tea or try it with some cream. There is no chocolate in the recipe


200 g butter

350 g flour

320 g brown sugar

4 tablespoons honey

1 tablespoon powdered ginger

1 tablespoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon bicarbonate

1 teaspoon salt

2 eggs

1 tablespoon grated lemon rind

1 pinch vanilla extract

1 teaspoon rum

How to Cook:

Beat the butter, brown sugar, rum, vanilla, salt and lemon rind in a medium bowl with an electric mixer until the mixture becomes fluffy.

Add the eggs one at a time, making sure to mix well after each addition. Stir in the flour, Cinnamon and bicarbonate and ginger in three batches. Then, add the honey.

Pour the mixture into a buttered pan. Bake in the oven at 200 degrees for 45 to55 minutes.
