Who doesn’t have fond memories of grandma’s cakes and how she used to guard her secret recipes. Sousou is now sharing hers and it’s perfect for tea and snacks!

Ingredients

  • 3 Cups flour
  • 2 Cups sugar
  • 1 Cup corn oil
  • 1 Cup orange juice
  • 5 Eggs
  • 3 Teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 Pinch salt
  • 1 Pinch vanilla
  • 1 Teaspoon grated lemon rind
  • 2 Tablespoons grated orange rind
  • 3 Tablespoons sifted cocoa

How to Cook:
  • Beat the eggs, sugar, vanilla, salt, orange rind and lemon rind in a medium-sized bowl with an electric mixer until it becomes fluffy.
  • Stir in the flour and orange juice in three batches. Then, add the corn oil and baking powder.
  • Spread ¾ of the mixture in a buttered pan. Then, using a spatula, add the sifted cocoa to the remaining mixture. Pour it into the same buttered pan.
  • Bake in the oven at 180 degrees C for 50 to 55 minutes.
