A traditional dish, KaZa with Potatoes, tomatoes and onions is a hearty, easy and colorful recipe to offer to your family.

Ingredients

Kafta:

 

  • 1 Kilo minced meat (lamb or beef)
  • 2 Big onions
  • 100 g chopped parsley
  • 1 Tablespoon flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste

 

Vegetables:

 

  • 4 Medium potatoes peeled, cut into circles.
  • 2 Medium soft tomatoes, cut into circles
  • 2 Medium onions, peeled, cut round
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 Tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 ½ Cups water

How to Cook:

Kafta:

 

  • Grind the onion & parsley. Mix the onion, parsley & meat together. Then, add flour, salt & pepper.
  • Take a small piece of meat and roll it by hand to create a sausage shape.
  • Place all the rolled meat in one tray.
  • Bake the kafta in the oven between 15 to 20 minutes.

 

Vegetables:

 

  • Heat the potatoes in a pot with water until it starts boiling, and then remove them.
  • Put the baked kafta in a Pyrex. Place one layer of onions over the Kafta. Then, add a layer of tomatoes and a layer of potatoes.
  • Mix the tomato paste in the water with salt.
  • Pour the mixture onto the kafta preparation.
  • Bake in oven for 40 to 50 minutes or until golden.
