“Lokma” is a special dessert, easy to prepare and made with few ingredients. You can serve it during Ramadan or any other occasions.

Ingredients

Syrup:
  • 4 Cups sugar
  • 2 Cups water
  • 1 Teaspoon orange blossom water
  • 1 Teaspoon rose water
  • 3 Tablespoons squeezed lemon
Dough:
  • 6 Cups flour
  • 2 ½ Tablespoons corn flour
  • 1 Teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 Teaspoon sugar
  • 1 Pinch salt
  • 3-4 Cups water

How to Cook:
Syrup:
  • In a pan on the stove, boil the sugar with water while stirring constantly. When it thickens, add the rose water, orange blossom water and lemon juice.
 
Dough:
  • Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well until you obtain a loose and soft dough.
  • Cover and let it rest for 4 hours.
  • In a deep pan, heat 2 cups of oil.
  • Coat your finger with oil & take a small ball of dough and fry it. When it is golden, flip it over to the other side. Then, strain them, and drop them into the cold syrup.
  • Continue to fry the balls until the dough has finished.
