Ingredients

Dough:

 

  • 400 Grams butter, melted
  • 4 Cups flour
  • 3 Tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 3 Tablespoon powdered milk
  • 2 Teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 Tablespoon orange blossom water

Filling:

 

  • 1 Kilo pitted dates
  • 100 Grams butter, melted
  • ¼ Teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 Teaspoon orange blossom water
  • 1 Pinch powdered musk

How to Cook:

Dough:

 

  • Mix all the ingredients together and knead until the dough is soft
  • Cover it with a tablecloth and keep it aside

 

Filling:

 

  • Place the butter and the dates in a tray and put it in the oven until the butter has melted. Then, grind the remaining ingredients in a food processor.

 

Maamoul Mad with Dates:

 

  • In a buttered tray, place half of the dough, making sure it is well moistened. Then place the dates mixture on top of the dough, piece by piece and flatten it out using your hand.
  • Continue the same procedure until you create a layer of dates covering the bottom layer of dough.
  • Put the remaining dough on top of the dates layer and moisten the top well.
  • Bake in the oven at 200 degrees until it is golden brown.
