mom’s cake

This is a real traditional yet reinvented easy to prepare cake . It’s very moist, sweet and super delicious! We’re sure everyone will fall in love with it!


3 cups flour

2 cups sugar

1 cup butter or corn oil

1 cup orange juice or milk

5 eggs

3 teaspoons baking powder

1 pinch salt

1 pinch vanilla

1 teaspoon grated lemon rind

1 teaspoon rum

1 cup chocolate spread

smarties to decorate

How to Cook:

Beat the butter, sugar, rum, vanilla, salt and lemon rind in a medium bowl with an electric mixer until it becomes fluffy.

Add the eggs one at a time, making sure to mix well after each addition.

Stir in the flour and milk in three batches. Then, add baking powder.

Spread the mixture in a buttered pan and bake at 180 degrees C. for 50 to 55 minutes.

Once done, remove and keep aside to cool for 2 hours.

Spread over it the chocolate and decorate with smarties.
