Lebanese stews are nothing but pure health bliss for everyone, especially kids.

Ingredients

Potato Stew:

 

  • 8 Medium potatoes, peeled & cut into big cubes
  • 200g Beef or lamb cubes
  • 2 Medium onions, diced
  • 1 Tablespoon oil
  • 6 Garlic cloves, smashed
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 2 Tablespoons tomato paste
  • Salt and pepper to taste

 

Rice:

 

  • 1 Cup Egyptian rice
  • 1 Cup Uncle Ben’s rice
  • ½ Cup vermicelli
  • 1 ¾ Cups water
  • Salt to taste

How to Cook:

Potato Stew:

 

  • Fry the onions and garlic with oil in a high pressure cooker. Then, add the meat until the color has changed.
  • Next, add the potatoes, cinnamon stick, tomato paste, salt and pepper. Cover with water.
  • Cook in the high pressure cooker for 30 minutes.

 

Rice:

 

  • Soak the two types of rice in water for half an hour before cooking.
  • Fry the vermicelli until golden, then, add the rice, salt and water.
  • Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat & cook until all water evaporates.
