How to Cook:

Syrup:

  • In a pan on the stove, combine the sugar and water. Then, stir until the syrup becomes lightly thick. Add the lemon juice and the orange blossom water.
  • The syrup must be cold.

Dough:

  • Put all the ingredients in a big bowl, except for the oil and mix well until you obtain a stiff and soft dough.
  • Cover & let it rest for one hour.
  • Split the dough into small walnut-sized balls.
  • Roll down the dough with your fingers while slightly exerting pressure against a patterned tool to create an imprint design.

Maakroun:

  • In a deep pan, heat the oil & fry the maakroun. Then, strain them, and drop them in the cold syrup.
  • Repeat same process until all of the dough has finished.
