Kibbeh with a twist; try Sousou’s kibbet hamod for your next family gathering.

Ingredients

MINCED MEAT

200 g minced meat

2 medium onions, cut into small cubes

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

taste to salt and pepper

200 g butter

KIBBEH:

1½ cups powdered rice

300 g ground meat

1 small onion grated

seven spices & salt

SAUCE:

1 kg zucchini, cut into cubes

taste to salt and pepper

1 stick cinnamon

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 big onion, cut into cubes

7 to 8 cups water

4 cups tomato sauce

2 tablespoons tomato paste

4 garlic cloves, cut into cubes

½ cup ground rice

½ cup lemon juice

How to Cook:

MINCED MEAT:

Mix all of the ingredients together.

KIBBEH:

Mix meat, powdered rice, seven spices & salt. Gradually add water until you have a soft kibbeh dough.

Divide the kibbeh dough into small balls. Put each ball in the palm of your hand and use your fingers to make flat and round kibbeh. Put some of the meat mixture into the shaped kibbeh dough. Then, make another round and flat kibbeh. Cover the mixture and

SAUCE:

In a pan, fry the onion and garlic with oil until it changes color. Add the tomato paste and stir for 3 minutes. Add the tomato sauce, water, zucchini, and the ground rice. Then, add the cinnamon stick, salt, and pepper.

When they start boiling, reduce the heat. Let it cook for half an hour. Then, add the pieces of kibbeh and let it simmer for another half an hour. Once cooked, add the lemon juice.
